As you may or may not know, my mother teaches English to 9th grade girls. She was marking her students final exams this morning, when she stumbled upon one girl who had find the time to draw some cartoons illustrating the writing question she had completed. :P

Keef 7alak?
When I was young, I used to translate some things word for word from english to arabic.
So, "al 7amdulilah" would become "good", as an answer to "how are you?".
One day I was feeling ill, a long time ago, and my uncle Bilal called. So he asks me,
"Keef 7alak?"
Since I was ill, I wanted something close to,
"Not really good."
So I answer,
"Mish il 7amdulilah."
